I had this very visible hat made for my hike.
The plan: I will start my hike on the Ohio To Erie Trail on April 4, 2013 at 10:00am Yeatman's Cove in Cincinnati on the Ohio River. I hope to finish in Cleveland at Lake Erie twenty one days later on April 24. This means I need to average about 16 miles per day. I will need to stay moving on this hike!
From April 25-28 I will attend the 2nd Annual Buckeye TrailFest is Kirtland. Last year I created and managed the 1st Annual Buckeye TrailFest which was held in Lebanon. It will be nice to attend one as a participant. At Buckeye TrailFest I am giving a presentation on my 2011 Buckeye Trail thru hike and a presentation on Backpacking 101. You can check out Buckeye TrailFest here: http://www.buckeyetrailfest.org/
Two days ago, on Easter Sunday, I drove my niece, Katie, from Dayton to Ohio State University where she is going to school. I took the opportunity to travel the back roads and follow the Ohio Erie Trail from Xenia to downtown Columbus. This was a good scouting mission. I saw the towns of Cedarville, South Charleston and London. I saw where the bike path ends at Georgesville and saw where I will be walking on roads into downtown Columbus. After dropping Katie off at OSU I checked out the road walking section in Worthington and the bike path in Westerville.
